Frequently Asked Questions

How is Philippine income tax computed?+
Under the TRAIN Law, income tax is graduated. The first ₱250,000 of annual income is tax-free. Income from ₱250,001 to ₱400,000 is taxed at 15%, ₱400,001–₱800,000 at 20%, and so on up to 35% for income above ₱8,000,000. The monthly withholding tax is the annual tax divided by 12.
What is the SSS contribution rate in 2024–2026?+
SSS uses a bracket-based table. The employee share is 4.5% of the monthly salary credit, while the employer contributes 9.5%. The total contribution rate is 14%, with a minimum of ₱135 and a maximum of ₱900 for employees (based on the latest schedule).
How much is PhilHealth contribution?+
PhilHealth contributions are 5% of the monthly basic salary, split equally — 2.5% from the employee and 2.5% from the employer. The minimum monthly premium is ₱500 (₱250 per side) and the maximum is ₱5,000 (₱2,500 per side) based on 2024–2026 rates.
What is the Pag-IBIG (HDMF) contribution?+
For monthly compensation of ₱1,500 and below, the employee contribution is 1%. For above ₱1,500, it is 2%, capped at a maximum employee share of ₱100 per month. Employers match the employee contribution.
Is the 13th month pay taxable in the Philippines?+
The first ₱90,000 of the 13th month pay and other bonuses is tax-exempt. Any amount above ₱90,000 is subject to withholding tax.
Is my salary data safe when I use this calculator?+
Yes — all calculations happen directly in your browser. No data is sent to any server. Pinoy at Work does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or financial information.
